Day 1: Arrive In Cochin

Upon arrival at Kochi, you will transfer to your hotel for 02 nights stay. Kochi is referred to as the Gateway to Kerala, flanked by the Western Ghats in the East and the Arabian Sea in the west. It is also called the ‘Queen of Arabian Sea’. Kochi has a rich legacy of forts, churches and temples that give a glimpse of political, religious and commercial happenings of the city. Kochi also called as “Cochin” was the first European colonial settlement in all of India and was under the rule of various dynasties like the Arabs, the Chinese, the British, the Dutch, and the Portuguese. It is now the commercial and industrial capital of Kerala. In the evening, you will be taken to a Kathakali Dance Centre where you will witness the most elaborate of the dance forms in southern India. Here you will witness the artists readying themselves up with the make-up for the final performance. Overnight at the hotel .


Day 2: Cochin

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you set off on a sightseeing tour of Cochin; visiting Fort Kochi is now ruins of a Portuguese Fort founded in 1503. You may see many scattered Chinese fishing nets as well as sailing ships along the beaches. In fact, this is the only place outside China where one can see such fishing nets and you will head to The Dutch Palace (closed on Friday) is a beautiful palace originally built by the Portuguese. The palace was later taken over by the Dutch in the 17th century, who modified it and gifted it to the ‘Raja of Kochi’. It is a showcase of outstanding collection of mural paintings depicting scenes from the Hindu epics of Mahabharata and Ramayana. Enjoy the visit of Jewish Synagogue (closed on Friday afternoon and Saturday & Jewish festivals), in the Jew Town of Kochi is a popular attraction in Kerala. More than a hundred years old, the synagogue houses many rare antiques. The place of worship of Jews is remarkable for its interesting history, architecture and charm that attract visitors. It is built on the place gifted by the erstwhile King of Cochin. You will also see Chinese Fishing Nets; these nets are fixed land installations, which are used for a very unique and unusual method of fishing. The sight of the Chinese nets, suspended in mid-air and it is, undoubtedly, one of the most photographed sights in Kochi. Thereafter, visit of the St. Francis Church, originally built in 1503, is the oldest European church in India and has great historical significance. The Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama died in Kochi in 1524 when he was on his third visit to India. His body was originally buried in this church, but after 14 years his remains were taken back to Portugal. Rest of the day at leisure Overnight at the hotel


Day 3: Kochi – Thekkady

Today’s drive will take you to Thekkady. Thekkady is also known as “Periyar:. It is South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary, encompassing an area of 777 sq. km. Set on the attractive man-made Periyar Lake; it attracts over 300,000 visitors a year. Though the sanctuary was made a part of Project Tiger in 1973, it is better known for its elephants. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. Upon arrival check-in to the hotel and relax for the day Spend rest of the evening at leisure or you can explore the region on your own. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 4: Thekkedy

Today, enjoy boating along the scenic Periyar Lake and experience its vast calmness. The stark, skeletal remains of the trees that protrude from its waters give the area a primeval look. The scenic Periyar Lake in the middle of the sanctuary is a great place for boating and watching the elephant’s frolic. (Subject to water level) This afternoon, visit to an aromatic spice plantation, where we enjoy a guided walking tour uncovering the secrets of southern India's spices. The plantation tour is an opportunity to meander through cardamom, pepper, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla and many other varieties of spices and medicinal plants and gives you an insight into how these are grown, harvested and processed. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 5: Thekkady – Kumarakom

Today after breakfast you will be driven to Kumarakom. Arrive at Kumarakom hotel and check in. Kumarakom is a pictorial, unsoiled village lies on the shores of the pleasant Vembanad Lake. Popularly known as the rice bowl of Kerala, Kumarakom is an invigorating and fascinating paradise with a variety of flora and fauna. Kumarakom is Kerala’s heartland of lagoons, palm fringed lakes and paddy fields, inter-linked with hundreds of winding canals and with the typical low slung country boats that carry almost everything. It is also famous for the bird sanctuary where many species of migratory birds visit. Afternoon free for independent activities and relaxation. Alternatively, you can either indulge yourself in some of the best Ayurvedic Massage which Kerala is famous for. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 6: Kumarakom Alleppey

Today after breakfast you will be transferred to Jetty point to embark on the houseboat. The main highlight of the tour is the Alleppey Backwater Experience. It is a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes, and such, forming a serpentine system of more than 900 km of waterways. The unique part of the backwater ecosystem is that freshwater from the rivers congregates with the seawater from the Arabian Sea. More than 2000 Houseboats (locally called as ‘kettuvallams’) ply on the backwaters. the traditional Ketuvallam (riceboats) converted into houseboats with bedrooms and attached toilets. Originally these boats were used as ferries to carry rice. Cruise through the backwaters of Kerala. Houseboat is one of the 50 “must do” things as described by the National Geographic Traveller magazine. The backwater cruise through the narrow canals that criss-cross a typical Kerala Village, rich with green paddy fields and verdant coconut trees and is a thrilling experience. The boat cruise takes you to small islets tucked away amidst those waters where you get glimpses of the village at the best of its serenity and innocence. You will have your delicious lunch & dinner included at the houseboat as well Overnight on the houseboat


Day 7: Alleppey Cochin Departure

Today after breakfast you will be transferred to Jetty point to disembark the houseboat & Drive back to Kochi International airport.
